Squirrel Removal:

Squirrels being part of the rodent family can cause much damage to your home or business. Many of the same diseases associated with rats can also be carried by squirrels, such as rabies, and their droppings are highly toxic as well. In addition, squirrels are very territorial: simply put, once they have entered your home, they think your home is their home, and they are extremely difficult to get rid of.

The Rat Patrol of New York, Inc. utilizes a variety of methods to rid your home or business of these pests. If you suspect that squirrels have invaded your home or business, call us.

Here is what we can do for you:

  • Conduct a free inspection of your structure to determine how the squirrels have gained entry into your property.
  • Customize a plan that fits your particular needs to eradicate your squirrel problem, squirrel proof your home (exclusion) or business to prevent reentry, and provide you with a one-year guarantee on any exclusion services installed outside your structure.
  • Sanitize and disinfect all squirrel droppings and urine in your home or business using Sporicidin Disinfectant Solution to prevent the spread of diseases associated with squirrels.

Raccoon Removal:

Raccoons are particularly problematic when they enter your home or business. They frequently wreak havoc on properties by nesting in attics, chimneys, chew on electrical wiring, enter and damage conditioning ducts, and eat food on the property which may belong to humans and pets. They also defecate and urinate in every place they invade, which may cause health problems to humans and pets.

Raccoons may carry a variety of diseases such as rabies, raccoon roundworm, and leptospirosis. If you suspect raccoons have entered your property, call us – The Rat Patrol of New York Inc. and we will conduct a free inspection to assess the situation. After inspection, we will customize a plan that fits your particular needs for the elimination of raccoons from your home or business.

  • Raccoon proof (exclusion) your home or business to prevent re-entry and provide you with a 1-year guarantee on any exclusion services which are installed outside your home or business
  • Sanitize and disinfect all raccoon droppings and urine using Sporicidin Disinfectant solution to prevent the spread of disease associated with raccoons.

Bird and Pigeon Removal:

Birds, especially pigeons, can destroy your home or business. They nest in ducts, in gutters and defecate everywhere. Pigeon droppings are highly toxic and have a high acidity content, which can eat through paint and erode steel over time. Pigeon droppings are associated with many diseases such as, Histoplasmosis, Cryptococcus, Psittacosis, and Encephalitis virus such as the Saint Louis Encephalitis Virus.

There are six methods for the elimination of pigeons.

  • Bird spikes
  • Stealth Nesting
  • No Roost Repelling Products
  • Ultra-Sonic Sound Devices
  • Bird Shock Flex
  • Bird Slide Exclusion

If you have a bird or pigeon problem, The Rat Patrol of New York, Inc. will employ one or more of these methods to eradicate the infestation. In addition, we offer clean up services to remove, sanitize and disinfect pigeon droppings using an oil based solvent to remove the droppings and Sporicidin Solution to disinfect and remove the potential for diseases associated with pigeons from becoming airborne.

Bat Removal:

Bats roost in dark, quiet, enclosed places where they are likely to be undisturbed by predators or weather conditions. Common areas for bats to roost are attics, chimneys, barns or sheds, soffits, and behind shutters and siding. Bats carry various diseases. These include the commonly known disease – rabies. They are known to carry ticks, mites, and other parasites.

Bat droppings (known as guano) are highly toxic. One such serious health concern for humans associated with Guano is Histoplasmosis. If you suspect that you might have a bat infestation in your home, call us!

Here is what we can do for you:

  • Inspection
Conduct a free inspection to determine where the bats are roosting by closely examining the entire structure and all potential roosting areas.
  • Elimination
Implement a plan of “one-way” elimination, which is one of the processes recommended for bat elimination. Complete elimination may take 7-10 days. This system allows the bats to leave and ensures they won’t return. Once complete elimination has been achieved, the structure will be sealed with proper materials, which will prevent re-entry.
  • Clean Up
To prevent the spread of diseases associated with guano, the area is disinfected and sanitized. All guano from the affected area is cleaned up using an oil based solution and a disinfectant called Sporicidin.
